Recipe for Lemon Icebox Pie - June 9, 2011

The boys have been wanting to make their own lemon icebox pie for days! Stephen finally stopped by the grocery store on his way home from class the other night and bought the ingredients.

The following recipe is the boys' version of how it should be done.

Step 1: Put one can of sweetened condensed milk into the mixer.
Step 2: Squeeze three lemons.
Step 3: Separate 2 eggs.  Start over after you break the yolk before it is separated. Put the yolks in the mixer.
Step 4: Squeeze more lemons because you need at least 1/3 of a cup and three small lemons just don't cut it!
Step 5: Pour it into the mixer, turn it on, and wait until it gets thick!
Step 6: Taste the lemons!!
Step 7: Make silly faces and tell your brother to taste the lemons!!
Step 8: Make fun of your brother's lemon face!!
Step 9: Put the mixture into a pie crust.
NOTE: We would normally use a homemade pie crust, but we thought we would just skip that part!!
Making this pie only held their attention for a very short time.

Step 10: Be sure to clean up after yourself!
Step 11: Put it in the refrigerator for a really long time so you can cut it without it running all over the place!

Now...its time to leave the house and go do something fun to keep the boys' minds off the pie!
